Ofunloju Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups of peeled beans(brown),
  • Salt,
  •  Chopped Red bell  pepper (tatashe),
  • Scotch bonnet chillies (ata rodo),
  • Seasoning,
  • Fried shredded meat,
  • Locust beans (Iru woro),
  • 2 onions,
  • 4Csp Palm oil,
  • Boiled egg.

    PROCEDURES

  1. OFUNLOJU MAKING.
  • Soak beans for 3-5 minute in a bowl for peeling the coat of the beans 
  • Peel the beans with no shaft remaining.
  • Place the peeled beans in a blender,add a cup of water and blend till smooth(Do not add any seasoning nor ingredient while in blender or cooking. leave plane).
  • After blending to paste, pour into a bowl.
  • Scoop and pour into a small container or nylon.
  • Place the plastic containers in a deep pot,and cook for 1 hour

     2. STEW MAKING.
  • Mix Chopped Red bell  pepper (tatashe) and Scotch bonnet chillies (ata rodo) in bowl.
  • Heat palm oil in a cooking pot for 3 minute.
  • Pour the mixed pepper and chilli in pot,to cook for 2 minute 
  • Add your fried meat, boiled egg,locust beans and seasonings for nice taste.
  • After adding the ingredients cook for 12-15 minute.
    3 .SERVING 
  • Serve your wonderful ofunloju with stew, hot and fresh with nice flavour.
  • You can add a pinch of salt to the ofunloju while serving .

NOTE: Ofunloju is mostly taken with pap, bread, cassava flakes(garri) Or can even be taken raw.
